SUMMARY:Lake James Dragon Boat Festival
DESCRIPTION:This family-friendly event will include local and regional teams coming together to race against each other in a series of heats at North Carolina’s Lake James State Park\, Paddy’s Creek Area. The event will begin at 9 a.m. on October 1\, 2022\, and conclude around approximately 4 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to come to the park with their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities. Admission is free. \nFood vendors and music will keep the event energetic throughout the day! Teams from all over the region set up tents on the sandy shore\, ready to take to the water. \nThe event also features a touching moment of silence in honor or in memory of those who have battled breast cancer. SERTOMA is an organization of business and professional people knit together in bonds of personal friendship and united in the idea of service in their community. SERTOMA is a 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 not-for-profit international organization. Every year Sertoma clubs raise more than $20 million for local community service projects. Through these projects\, as well as grants and scholarships\, Sertoma clubs return those funds to their respective communities – and they have loads of fun doing it while building life-long friendship. \n
