2024 Gainesville/Hall Dragon Boat Challenge

Gainesville/Hall Dragon Boat Challenge is a community race event benefiting the Hall County Special Olympics!
Teams of 11 enter in Dragon Boat racing designed for business, government agencies, churches and neighborhood associations to assemble teams and ‘challenge’ other like-groups!
Example: Gainesville City Schools vs. Hall County Schools, Jackson EMC vs. Georgia Power, etc.
There will be award categories including:
- Best Costumed Drummer
- Most Enthusiastic Team
- Best Overall Team Theme
- Race Awards 1st-3rd in categories such as those listed above; Educational, Municipal, Corporate, Community, Open, when 3 or more teams are under that category.
*Open Teams will have at least eight ladies plus a drummer.*
Entry includes a one hour practice after working hours at Lake Lanier Olympic Park the week preceding the event. Teams will be coached by experienced dragon boat paddlers and World Champion Dragon Boat winner from the 2018 Dragon Boat World Championship!
